Podcast Equipment Hire for Your Studio Session
Podcast equipment hire for use during your booked session at Selfie Studios in Bulkington. Choose professional microphones, individual headphone monitoring and your preferred recording console. Podcast studio hire is £40/hour, with equipment charged separately per session. Existing studio furniture and props are included.
Audio kit · £30 per session
Two RØDE PodMic dynamic XLR microphones, a Zoom PodTrak P4 recorder, two boom arms with desk clamps, two Audio-Technica ATH-M50x monitoring headphones and two 3-metre XLR cables.
Video S kit · £60 per session
RØDECaster Video S video switcher and audio production console, with two RØDE PodMic microphones, boom arms, Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones and XLR cables. Compatible cameras are arranged separately: request Canon R100/R50 availability and pricing, or confirm your own equipment connections before booking.
Your session, your recording
Self-service hire: you set up, check sound, operate the equipment, record and save your own files. We will do our best to help with basic setup questions where available; an attended production service is not included. No engineer, editing or file delivery is included. Bring a compatible SD card for the P4; for the Video S bring compatible USB storage or a laptop for your chosen workflow. Confirm device compatibility before arrival. Setup, file checks and pack-down are within your booked time.
The studio is upstairs with stair access and is not soundproof. Furniture, existing props, Wi-Fi and free parking are included.
Lighting and backdrops
Continuous lighting £20 per booking. Softbox kit £20 per booking. Reusable backdrop £30 per booking. Foliage, flower or shimmer wall £50 each on request, subject to availability.
These are self-setup extras. A £50 refundable equipment security deposit applies; returned after equipment is checked complete and undamaged.
Podcast equipment hire: choose your recording workflow
Our podcast equipment hire is an optional extra for use during a booked session at Selfie Studios in Bulkington, near Coventry. The kit is supplied for you to operate. Choose around your recording plan rather than adding both kits: the £30 audio kit and £60 Video S kit are alternatives, with room hire charged separately at £40 per hour.
What is the difference between the two kits?
The audio kit uses a Zoom PodTrak P4 recorder with two microphones, two boom arms and two pairs of monitoring headphones. It suits a host and guest recording a conversation. The Video S option replaces the P4 with the RØDECaster Video S console for your chosen audio and video workflow. Cameras are separate: bring compatible cameras, or ask about Canon camera hire and pricing before booking.
How much will my session cost?
Standard prices before any current room-hire offer: two hours of room hire costs £80. With the audio kit, the total is £110; with the Video S kit it is £140. For three hours, room hire is £120, the audio option totals £150 and the Video S option totals £180. Equipment is charged once per session. Lighting, backdrops and separately arranged cameras are additional, and the refundable equipment security deposit is separate from the hire charge.
What should I bring for recording?
Bring a compatible SD card for the P4, or compatible USB storage or a laptop for your chosen Video S workflow. Storage media is not supplied. Check camera connections, power requirements and storage compatibility before arrival. Read the official RØDECaster Video S setup guide before using the console. Save and check your files before leaving; your recording, backups and editing remain your responsibility.
Is somebody available to record my episode?
No engineer or producer is included. You arrange the equipment, set microphone levels, check sound, operate cameras and record your episode. Allow enough booked time for setup, a test recording, saving files and packing away. The upstairs room has stair access and is not soundproof. Discuss access and sound requirements with us before booking, and arrange the Video S kit in advance.
Can we record a three- or four-person podcast?
The standard supplied kit contains two microphones and two headphones. For three or four speakers, contact us before booking so we can arrange and confirm the additional microphones, monitoring and audio equipment required. Larger sessions are by prior arrangement, subject to availability and a confirmed quote; they are not included in the standard two-person kit price.
The RØDECaster Video S has two analogue microphone inputs. Its ability to switch between up to four video sources does not mean four XLR microphones can plug straight into the console. We will agree a suitable expanded audio setup before confirming a larger session.
